Day 3 Reflection:

Being reflective is important in any of the IB programs. I like the clear guidelines on how to reflect. I enjoyed the example that Andrew gave: I have 20 years experience. No, you have one year experience for 20 times. Reflection makes the understanding and connection deeper and lasting.

Day 2 Reflection:
I enjoyed learning H. Lynn Erickson’s concept-based curriculum and instruction. To be able to distinguish between concept and topic is important. The key is to know that a concept is an ongoing idea and/or a mental construct that is timeless, universal, and abstract. To be able to come up with significant concepts are even more import in MYP. Although our group struggled to connect AOI (environments) with context (How society works), we understood what we didn’t know- a typical learning by doing experience. The presentation MYP: The next chapter by Curtis was informative. The demonstration on the Art of Clapping was impressive. Everybody would agree now that feedback is needed for higher performances.

Day 1 Reflection:
Experienced a technical problem to connect to the workshop wiki.
